Description

The flag of the Korean People's Strategic Forces (ballistic missiles), like the flag of the Korean People's Special Operations Forces, has not been seen in public since 2020, indicating that those two military services may have, once again, been downgraded and subordinated back to the Korean People's Ground Forces. Neither flag made an appearance in the stand of military colors on the balcony overlooking the September 2021 parade commemorating the founding of the DPRK, and neither flag appeared in the 25 April 2022 parade commemorating the 90th anniversary of the founding of the North Korean military. In fact, all missile and likely special operations units in the April 2022 parade carried Korean People's Ground Forces pattern colors, further indicating that they have probably been made subordinate to the Ground Forces once again.
